I would agree slightly unusual but certainly not unheard of! I have been to several Installations where The Sec & treasurer have walked out with the rest of the MMs at the appropriate time!

In my Chapter the progression is similar to most here; 2nd A S, 1st A S, PS, Scribe N, J, H, Z, however as our numbers have been alarmingly low it is not unheard of to do at least a couple of years in each office, a bit like a merry go round in my Chapter unfortunately!

Having a Companion as Scribe E is something that the other Chapter that meets in our Temple has done for a number of years - the Companion concerned was progressing in the Craft and other degrees so was happy to fill the role and not progress in Royal Arch

Yes, I know a Lodge where secratary is a progressive office between IG and JD!
