Greetings all, not sure where to start with all this so thought i'd just say hello. Kind of stumbled into masonry, had my initiation last week and am still bemused and excited by it all, I can't stress enough the warmth of the welcome that I've had so far and long may it continue!

If learn half as many answers as I have questions I'll be very happy!

As Chairman Mao , not a Freemason as far as I am aware, once said "The first step in any journey is the most difficult".  Let me congratulate you on your Initiation.

Now what would be helpful, if you don't mind telling, is what Lodge and under what Grand Lodge were you Initiated as often an answer applicable say to UGLE would not be totally correct if it was asked in relation to an American Lodge or Grand Lodge of Scotland or Le Droit Humain or Grand Orient de France as an example. If members know which branch of Freemasonry you belong to it will be easier for them to give you the correct information or if they do not know it themselves to direct your steps to the most suitable source.

As one who has been a Freemason now for just over 21 years I wish you a happy time in The Craft.

Hi Sinbad and welcome to the Forum.

Your Proposer and Seconder should be your first point of Contact for questions and if you're a member of a Lodge under the UGLE second choice is the Lodge Mentor.

However, you are welcome to look on this place as being a secondary source of information and opinion to back up what they tell you. There is a good chance that the experience on this Forum due to the number of us and where we all are and our different experiences of Freemasonry will probably give you a broader picture than they will.

Welcome to the forum Sinbad. As they have all said before me, seek and ye shall find. Some answers might not be the ones that you are looking for but always remember that for the most part, most, if not all of the posters on here are open and honest.

Thanks for your kind words brothers...am really enjoying learning more about the craft and am looking forward to my lodge's meeting in the next couple of weeks!

Am curious as to whether the brethren know of any other Sikh mason's, I've never met or known of another but internet research etc shows me that there are plenty in India, not that it matters but just a little curious
